Laminated Turtle Top Center Table
Rosewood with Laminated Pierced Skirt and
White Marble Top A turtle top on a pierced
skirt is carved in a grape and vine pattern with an
escutcheon in the center of each side carved in
scroll, leaf, and floral design. The undercut cabriole legs
have flowers on the knees hanging down from leafy
scrolls and terminate in leafy scroll feet. Thin
scroll-shaped stretchers cross to support an urn of flowers
(peonies, roses, and carnations) in naturalistic
high relief. mid 19th century,
